Two houses in Krkonoše
Overview
Design proposal of two serene family houses at the foot of Krkonoše Mountains.
The project site is on a slope, at the edge of a small village, inside the Krkonoše National Park. The proposal respects the mountain house's character in relation to the area and takes advantage of the position on the hill with views into the valley.
Two separate houses are connected by a hillside recessed structure, which provides a wellness retreat for the residents.
The construction of the houses is a combination of a concrete base in the hillside and a timber structure above ground. The load-bearing structure is thus also imprinted on the façade by a combination of wood and stone cladding.
